We keep talking
Saying everything
But not what we feel
We fill in the blanks yet they still remain,
Spaces that words can’t truly explain.
We keep it clean
We’re careful with the sheets,
Keep tidy and neat,
Playing it safe with strategies discreet.
We say it all, yet miss what we plead,
Dancing around the words we need
I see it coming, no more cries,
By now I don’t flinch, no wide eyes.

lost in the shadow’s mark,
Wondering how to fix things back
